I live daily with the opposite, as the only female in an all male household ~ even the dogs are male! It's enlightening to see how Eric thinks, perhaps I'll be kinder to my "testosterone" family!
"Let me you a story" is funny, engaging, and Eric Miller has a talent for capturing vignettes of humor from life's ordinary moments in an endearing and funny way.
Let Me Tell You a Story by Eric Miller, aka as Etc. Guy is true-to-life humor at its best. Stories we can all relate to from an author who no matter how hard he tries - and he does try- just can't seem to get it right. You'd think he learned but that's not in his DNA. He's a guy's guy surrounded by estrogen and no matter what he does; he is adept at stepping into it with both feet, although this doesn't stop him from trying. We all can use a good clean laugh and Eric's, humbling, self-deprecating, vignette stories hit the mark and often include a moral to the story. Read Let Me Tell You a Story for the pure fun of it.
As a cartoonist, there is a special place in my heart for humorous writers. Eric certainly occupies part of that space. Guys who aren't hung up with their own egos and who can laugh at themselves occasionally will undoubtedly enjoy reading this book. I can definitely relate to many of the situations and although I'm not an ice hockey player, I too found myself competing with younger guys in other sports as I grew older. Eric has a gift of capturing those anecdotes that not only apply to any aging athlete, but also to men who have to deal with estrogen on a daily basis and somehow manage to keep it all together... even if it comes unglued occasionally. When I'm having a bad day, I just read a little Etc. Guy and I feel better.
This guy is great, and says what most of us are thinking. Great short chapters for an easy read to pick you up at the end of a long day. Just read a couple pages for a good laugh before going back to the grind. Highly recommended.
It is good and he told about other authors that are great.
Not my usual book genre but someone recommended this to me. I figured, what the heck. I'm so glad I read it. I couldn't help but laugh out loud reading this. It made me happy to realize I'm not the only one who is struggling to figure out this family thing! It's refreshing to read about so many things I can relate to. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
